The forerunner of this mini group was the Perle Noire Oyster & Grill Bar which establioshed itself as a leading purveyor of steak of all sorts (including seafood) on the Upper East Coast Road for the best part of 16 years. Its name might now be changed but the quality remains. Jonathan Tan is the mastermind, making sure there's a good suppy of top cuts from around the world: Australia, US, Argentina and New Zealand. The idea is a "contemporary twist on the classic steak restaurant" which means French-inspired mains, well-made sauces, first-rate sides and a well-selected wine list to boot.
