In a quest to establish their own traditions, Ginza Sushi-Ichi started with humble beginnings in the vibrant Ginza district of Tokyo. Over the years, it built up a reputation as a premier venue offering the best of Japanese delicacies. Besides the main restaurant at Ginza, this sister outlet in Singapore (there are others in Bangkok and Jakarta) has earned itself a Michelin star.
With only 23 seats, it's an intimate space marked out by the its beautiful cypress counter but the welcome is warm if a little too sotto-voce for some. There's a not-bad-value lunchtime set menu but prices can rise steeply, particularly at dinner.
