The insouciant, casual vibe is what draws fans in at Lucha Loca, but its the garden and garden bar that's the touchpaper for the evening fireworks which stokes the atmosphere and which regulars swear by. This is the brainchild of three friends who wanted to recreate the experiences and authentic Mexican street food of their travels, and they've done it on steroids.
One of the chefs, Jason Jones, is the co-founder of the hugely popular Mexican resturant Mamasita in Melbourne. This is, however, no ordinary Mexican street food. It's a big step up!
Enjoy crab tostadas with avocado and peppered chicken skin or spicy corn and artichoke tascos with sweetcorn paté and a lime crema. Follow in with paper-thin quesadillas with truffle, oyster mishrooms, sweetcorn and chimchurri, and wahs it down with a great collection of tequilas and innovative cocktails.
