If you like a romantic story – indeed one that is retold throughout in restaurant circles across the globe – then Song Fa offers it in spade loads. Founder Mr Yeo Eng Song started his journey with a pushcart serving bowls of this traditional garlicky, peppery pork soup. It’s comfort food on steroids and this version took hold. Today there are still many soups to be enjoyed but there’s plenty of meatier pork dishes besides – pig’s trotter, pork belly and large intestine, to name a few. Try also chicken feet or beancurd skin, with a side of salted vegetables or tasty Cai Xin.
