Authentic Peranakan dishes strut their stuff and are matched by a museum load of cultural nik naks without descending into cliché at this warm and inviting eaterie where the potpourri lifts the senses on arrival. It all fits together well, but the lasting impression is made by the food which might include itek sio (braised duck in sweet sauce), beef rendang, satay ayam (chicken) and ngoh hiang (chicken and prawn meat rolls). Local favourites include stir-fried basil beef or fried chicken with lemongrass and Thai herbs. Three private dining rooms adds a further element.
