This grand, jaw-dropping lobby and bar occupies the ground floor of one of Singapore’s iconic buildings and inhabits a universe somewhere between DiCaprio’s Great Gatsby and The Grand Budapest Hotel. The glamorous Art Deco interior, low lighting, plush red carpet, clubbish furnishings and jazz age elegance all contribute to the big-gesture backdrop for a knock-out collection of gin and rare vintage fizz from Champagne’s great houses.
There’s a terrific cocktail list too but, for us, the Atlas Martini shines brightly, expertly made with Ambrato vermouth, orange bitters and a tot of champagne vinegar to keep the drink sharp, while an Espresso Martini is darkly delicious if you’re wanting to keep the night young.
