Blu Jaz Café has occupied its current location since 2006 following its first two years in Little India. Originally a haunt for backpackers looking for a low key place to chill out, it has grown into something of an institution, built around a roster of talented musicians, DJs and other artists. Food and a drink are key parts of the offer too, with a menu that covers a range of cuisines, all at knock-down prices. Try tasty burgers, wholesome salads, curries, satays, stir-fries or a red snapper cooked healthily in lime juice. There's even a rather good beef lasagne for under $15. Wash it all down with a beer or perhaps a whisky sour, while soaking up the winsome vibes.
