Since 1998 Jade Palace Seafood Restaurant (JPSR) has been plying its trade to an appreciative local audience and the plaudits are not hard to find. It's a cavernous place capable of accomodating 150 people, not including the 6 private rooms. Traditional Cantonese cuisine using beautifully sourced fresh ingredients is the name of the game, which is likely to involve first rate seafood along the lines of Boston lobster or deep fried Shanghai Yellow Crocker fish. The dim sum at lunch is a big draw as, too, the "most delicious" Peking Duck and pancakes, cracking wasabi prawns and signature clay pot rice.
JPSR has an excellent wine cellar, but more than that they are passionate about the drinking of wine with food, so much so that they are that rare thing of being happy for guests to bring their own wine with no corkage. A real plus in a country known for its achingly expensive wine.
