A restaurant that celebrates the Malaysain national dish of Nasi Lemak – rich and creamy coconut milk rice, served with hot and spicy sambal, small crispy anchovies, roasted peanuts and cucumber…oh, and a frIed egg. It’s also a celebration of Cendol (a sweet, coconut-based desert with strands of worm-like jelly) which may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you won’t get better or more authentic than at The Coconut Club. The rice comes from a single plantation in Sabak Bernam, Malaysia.
Besides these specialities, there’s first-rate chicken, tasty beef rendang, sambal sotong (a spicy cuttlefish stir-fry) and a superb and equally spicy bean curd and fermented soybean stir-fry. Daily queues all part of the fun.
