It’s easy to fall in love with this casual place that uses a roster of Italian classics from great pizza and pasta to very tasty antipasti along with refectory tables to build an ambience. The cooking is simple and delightful but, make no mistake, there is expertise everywhere, not least from Michelin starred chef-restaurateur Beppe De Vito.
Start with spinach salad with lemon, honey, yogurt and hazelnuts, crispy calamari or house roasted Iberico pork ham with tonnato sauce and zingy Sicilian capers. For many, the highlight is expertly leavened signature pizza with the lightest of crusts. Try the one with pancetta, spicy broccolini, pumpkin and smoked mozzarella or, our favourite, the one with mushrooms, truffle, mascarpone and Tuscan pecorino.
Artisanal pastas like fettuccine with beef shank, mushrooms and orange salmoriglio hit the spot, too, as well as grilled seabass with fennel and orange salad or Sardinian paella, grilled octopus, fregola pasta, fava beans and cherry tomatoes. Out of this harmonic culinary mayhem comes great satisfaction. Service is charming, efficient and stress-free.
