Candles, attractive lighting, bare brick walls and an ambient terrace may seem a touch deja vu in other parts of the work but these Bar-Roque calling card are a welcome addition in this Singpore neighbourhood. The real action, however, is in the kitchen where expertly wrought bistro classics show all the hallmarks of a clever brigade doing what they do with passion. French spring chicken, charcuterie, black angus ribeye with baby romaine salad are the gutsy, honest winners on a short but winsome menu.
