Kick back at this cool kitchen-bar with a negroni, Little Creatures Brigh Ale or simple glass of Marlborough Pinot Noir while perusing a diverse pick'n'mix menu packed with interesting things. If this is street food, it's a massive under-sell but that's the kind of laidback, overdelivering type of place this is. Check out a smoky, rare striploin steak that might come with sweet caramelised cauliflower purée, an umami hit of shiitake relish and the crunch of lotus root chips. There's also a great butternut pumpkin ravioli with Greek yoghurt, burnt butter and sage or tiger prawns cooked simply with garlic, chili and lime. And both the hummus and pork jowl with crackling come highly recommended. Round it off with a banging pistachio cake and a dollop of yuzu creme, honey and some pistachio sprinkles. The open kitchen focuses on an INKA charcoal grill that imbues the room with metaphorical and physical warmth.
