How much is venue hire?

Venue hire can vary from anything from £200 to £20,000+ depending on the size and style of venue. Some venues include a flat hire fee, others may charge per head so speak to your shortlisted venues about their pricing structures.

What does dry hire venue mean?

Dry hire means you are simply hiring the venue itself with no additional catering, furnishings etc. If you are wanting to put all the finer details together yourself then dry hire could work for you.

Can I get free venue hire?

Yes it really is possible to get free venue hire, BUT you will have to spend your budget elsewhere. Some venues offer free venue hire on condition you use their services and catering. Speak to your chosen venue to see what pricing structures are available.

Can I use my own catering for my event?

If you have chosen a dry hire venue then you will absolutely be able to use your own caterers. Venues that offer their own catering services may also allow you to bring in your own caterers for a flat fee.

How many venues should I visit when planning my event?

We would suggest creating a short list of 5-10 venues for your event and explore their information and pricings to see which locations suit your event. Then make a site visit to 2-3 venues at most, this enables you to have some ability to compare venues without feeling overwhelmed with choice.
